Joseph Peabody, a wealthy Salem shipping merchant, purchased the estate in 1814. In 1893, his granddaughter, Ellen Peabody Endicott, and her husband, William Crowninshield Endicott Sr., renovated the mansion to the present structure. The Endicott family used the estate as a summer home until 1958. In 1963, Glen Magna Farms was purchased by the Danvers Historical Society, a private not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Danvers’s history and cultural artifacts. 2

Glen Magna Farms is located on Ingersoll Street in Danvers, Massachusetts.

1814. In 1893, his granddaughter, Ellen Peabody Endicott, and her husband, William Crowninshield Endicott Sr., renovated the mansion to the present structure. The Endicott family used the estate as a summer home until 1958.
In 1963, Glen Magna Farms was purchased by the Danvers Historical Society, a private not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Danvers’s history and cultural artifacts.
Conveniently located less than one mile from Routes 1 and 95, Glen Magna Farms is an ideal setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions, private parties, photo shoots, and other special events. Glen Magna Farms features a grand colonial-revival mansion nestled on 11 lush acres of a country estate containing awardwinning formal gardens, the Rose Garden, and the Derby Summer House – a National Historic Landmark.
The main rooms of the colonial-revival mansion include a foyer, drawing room, parlor, library, and dining room. Private changing rooms for both the bride and groom are located on the second floor. A covered veranda along the entire south side of the mansion provides an intimate setting for dancing overlooking the vast lawn and gardens. Visitors can take self-guided tours of the award-winning gardens or enjoy a guided historical tour followed by a boxed lunch with our Grounds Restoration Manager. In the spring, visitors can purchase heirloom plants or even take in a vintage baseball game.
