welcome The Seymour Marine Discovery Center is a beloved treasure where friends, families, students, and the larger community gather to learn about our oceans. Perched on the ocean bluff overlooking Monterey Bay, this stunning public facility is dedicated to ocean science and conservation. The Center features the everyday tools of ocean exploration and focuses on research conducted by scientists on site and around the world. The Seymour Center is part of Long Marine Laboratory on the University of California, Santa Cruz, Marine Science Campus. Highlights include an immense blue whale skeleton, gray whale skeleton, elephant seal models, Exhibit Hall with aquarium and touch tank, guided tours of spectacular overlooks and behind- the-scenes areas, education programs tailored for students of all ages, and an array of specialty programs that focus on different aspects of marine science.
